Today in Gardening!
Many of you know that we have a gardening class at our ECE. You might wonder though what we do. I thought I would share with you a couple of videos of Geerafot and Egooanot in gardening. Children enjoyed getting their hands dirty and discovering things that grow in the ground. They planted seeds and watered them. Gardening gives children the opportunity to use multiple sense as well as learn about science and nature.

Tu B'shevat Seder
This morning we had a fabulous Tu B'shevat Seder lead by Rabbi Cohon and Rabbi Holtz. We sang and we dance and tasted lots of food that come from the earth! We are glad so many parents were able to attend and are greatly appreciative for those who helped set up and clean up.

Yummy food all children tasted!
Check out Egooanot and Soosim's performance!
Check out the fun dance line everyone participated it!

Celebrating trees - Tu B'shevat
Tu B'shevat is the celebration of the trees. What wonderful things do the trees give us; fruits, nuts, shade, paper, wood and oxygen. The children have been enjoying celebrating this holiday and are looking forward to our Tu B'shevat seder tomorrow where we will taste the fruits from the trees and honor them with songs and blessings. You are welcomed to join your child at this special meal.
Look at all the wonderful projects the children have been making for Tu B'shevat:

Finger painting to make tree pictures in Gamalim

In writing this blog and thinking about Tu B'Shevat I am happy that more and more things are becoming electronic, it was a wonderful way to view things as well as a way to save resources.
What can you do in your family to help the environment?

Learning while playing
Today on the playground I observed children learning while playing. The two girls were pretending they were doctors and examining the bike while the two boys were stuck behind the girls and all they wanted to do was go. They sat there for a while and the next thing I new they were turned around going the other way. The figured it out! What great problem solvers!
